The #wwweek2024 event will take place in Stockholm from 25-29 August and focuses on water cooperation, for peace and security. This year’s theme is ‘Bridging Borders: Water for a Peaceful and Sustainable Future.’World Water Week is a key event for the Government of the Netherlands to engage with these issues, bring innovative solutions, learn from others and continue working on the 800 commitments made at the United Nations 2023 Water Conference in March. For a successful implementation of the current commitments, it requires everyone to play their part. The Netherlands is hosting and co-hosting a diversity of activities including six sessions and a high-level panel in follow-up to the UN 2023 Water Conference. Newly appointed Consul General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Hong Kong SAR assumes office.With a career spanning over two decades within the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Maurits ter Kuile brings a wealth of experience to his new role as Consul General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Hong Kong.Prior to his arrival in Hong Kong, he held the position of Deputy Ambassador at the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Athens. He also served as First Secretary at the Permanent Representation of the Netherlands in Geneva, Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of the Netherlands in Astana, First Secretary at the Embassy of the Netherlands in Kabul and Second Secretary at the Embassy of the Netherlands in Manila. HONG KONG – DeTOUR DESIGN FESTIVAL : CALL FOR CREATIVE PROPOSALS - Deadline 31 July.The curators of DeTour, one of the largest design festivals in Hong Kong, is calling for international creative proposals.Organised by PMQ, deTour is an annual festival that celebrates creativity and demonstrates how the creative process brings value to the design industry. It presents a variety of programmes by engaging designers and creative communities in Hong Kong and overseas.
